Dr Allan Shaw

Dr Allan Shaw was born in America.  He migrated to Australia in 1961 to take up the position as Senior Lecturer Mechanical Engineering at the Adelaide University.  His passion and dedication to perfecting climate control through balancing temperature and humidity led to his research in air conditioning design.

Dr Shaw’s early work used a simple parallel pipe circuiting system designed to maximize air conditioning efficiencies.

Shaw’s first design was superseded with a series pipe system which maximized energy efficiencies further.  This cutting edge research is considered today to be a ‘world first’.

Today many people within the industry consider Dr Shaw to be one of Australia’s earliest environmental activists.

Shaw’s early principles led to the fifth and final design which is now patented and internationally recognised as leading the way in air conditioning for the future.
